People in Need Slovakia (Človek v ohrození – PIN SK) is a Slovak NGO providing relief and development assistance. Since 1999, we have provided a helping hand to those deprived of human dignity and freedom due to all sorts of circumstances. To people suffering the consequences of war; victims of natural disasters or those who live under the suppression or in conditions of deep poverty – in 29 countries around the world as well as in Slovakia. We are a proud member of the People in Need network operating from Central Europe.


Location of work: Bratislava (+occasional travel)

Starting date: January 2018


Main responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Head of Relief and Development Department, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Coordination of humanitarian and development projects, including monitoring, maintaining project timeline and budget
  • Financial and narrative reporting, including drafting of reports and liaison with donors
  • Planning and implementation of project activities, including co-ordination and communication with partner organizations and recruitment of project staff
  • Co-ordination of field workers, volunteers, experts
  • Project development, including identification of donors, conducting needs assessments and drafting of project proposals
  • Representation of PIN SK in meetings with donors, institutions, partners and other relevant stakeholders
  • Provide ongoing support to PIN SK’ operations and fulfil other tasks as required



  • At least a BA degree in development or humanitarian studies, international relations, international law, human rights, environmental or agricultural studies, management, or other related field
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in the field of humanitarian aid/development, field work experience is an advantage
  • At least 2 years of experience in drafting, implementing and coordinating projects
  • Knowledge of Slovak and EU donor environment and liasion with donors an advantage
  • Excellent spoken and written Slovak and English, knowledge of other languages, in particular Russian or Spanish is an advantage
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Critical analysis and problem solving skills
  • Flexibility and ability to work autonomously under pressure and under tight deadlines;
  • Reliable and self-reliant personality
  • Dynamic and result-oriented profile
